Discovery is going to be my latest film. It is set in the world of Novus Orbis and tell the story of two people trying to keep a secret while a rookie documentary maker snoops around their house.

This is where I will be putting up updates of how pre-production is going and what is happening during filming.

Monday 21st of January

This website is live and kicking and I'm now one step further into making the film into reality. I'm looking forward to making this project and hoping you are too.

In terms of work done ive managed to get all the planning of the next few weeks dont and hoping everything will go to plan. I'm currently working on the storyboard and getting actors organised to work in the film. I'm also working on creating 3d models for the CGI elements of the film. which I wont spoil for you till later in our journey.

Sunday 3rd of February

Over the last few weeks i've been organising for the up and coming shoot. I have two actors ready and waiting and two more to find. I'm currently looking for any music composers to create the soundtrack for my film. The storyboard is done and i'm learning Maya via extra classes. I have also double checked that i have the location confirmed.

everything is going and well its just getting people and equipment organised.

Thursday 21ST OF FEBRUARY

Today is going to be my first day of filming. i will be filming the introductory scene explaining the setting of the story. The actress may not come though so it may be needed for me to step in front of the camera and do the acting myself. once this part is filmed and edited it will be the tailer for the film.

Though after long thought and consideration I have decided to stop with the idea of CGI. I won't be able to create a realistic design in the time i have to completing the deadline, so now I am going into make up practical effects and using the after effects software to make what is on screen more believable.

Audio wise I am going to need help, because I'm at a disadvantage. even though I have been to all the lessons learning the technology goes straight through my head. Luckily I have people who can help me on this. but getting the time to do this is again something I need to work on.

I am still working on making the characters Kris and Kate in CGI for future projects, so you will be seeing them one day. thats a promise.

27th February 2013

well filming didn't go well, both the actress and the help didn't show up. so I've rewritten the script (again) to compensate for this turn of events. Tomorrow I am going to be doing some sound special effect recording, lets hope it goes better than last week.

28th February 2013

Well at first i thought the SFX recording was going to be a failure because i was just sitting in the room with no idea what to do, but thankfully a expert just happend to walk by to help me set up and i was able to do the job. I made some really cool sounds with hitting stuff with pipes and wood. so im a lot happier now. =3

7th of March 2013

I've got a film date and i know how im going to film the spacial effects, the date is the 18th of march, now i know two of my talent will be available for this time hopefully the third can too. going to organise a production seclude but may end up just following the script order. i Know how to do the special effects, im just going to do bits a pieces to surgest the look of the dragons so they are still a mystery of what they look like. this is the start of making Discovery and let make this go smoothly.

My third actor just pulled out... I've got a week to find another and get public protaction insurance.

Everything is back on track, got an actor Matt Thornton. Filming is back on. and because author isn't the main actor the film can now be shot over a couple of days. So I am planing to film all the footage that the fs100 is needed for because we only have one day of use with that camera. so then we can come back another day, i need to check if all actors are free. to film dslr footage basically Joe ( ArcMotion Richard Bradshaw ) point of view. which will be a lot easier day.

17th of march 2013

so here it is, Filming day tomorrow I've got every thing organised ive changed the plan to film most of the story but not all of it so we are rushing around trying to get it done in one day. well we will see how well it goes tomorrow when i update this. wish me luck please.

its now been three days since my first day of filming. it went well I got one scene done. but i personally think that i was crap as an director, I couldn't take charge and i was very timid. I wasn't able to really conect with giving the orders and being able to get my ideas to the other staff. but some how it worked out. lets hope this is a learning cuve I can pull off.

Now I havn't updated recently because I've just been busy with filming and editing. So yeah I've finished filming now and now just brushing up on audio and checking up on my music director. so thats it for now I will be updating this every week because this is the final stretch for the film.
